Adam enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2004 at the age of 19. He was assigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in 29 Palms, CA, and deployed to Iraq in March of 2006. While in Iraq, Adam was injured when a suicide bomber detonated a truck full of explosives at a traffic checkpoint in the city of Rawah. He recovered to the point that he was able to return to his unit on August 10th to attend the memorial service for the four Marines who were killed in the blast. Ten days later while out on a mission Adam was killed when his Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) rolled over an IED that was buried in the ground. LCpl. Randy Newman and Navy Corpsman Chadwick Kenyon were also killed. Blaine Scott, Isaac Gallegos, Matt Carter and were severely wounded. Freedom is won and preserved by those who are willing to answer the call of their country. Those killed on the July 29, 2006 attack were Sg. Christian Williams, Cpl.
